The City would like to track which organizations <br />are doing good deeds, so they can recognize them in the future. The City Council <br />each took a list of about 300 seniors’ names and are calling the; most are doing fine, <br />though a few do need some assistance. <br />Vice Mayor Ballew encouraged the community to attend these meetings to obtain <br />information. By working together, we can overcome some of the challenges by doing <br />as much as possible with limited resources. <br />Councilmember Lopez thanked everyone for all of their work. Acknowledged San <br />Leandro Color for their donation of PPE and thanked Ana Apodaca for her assistance <br />in helping a community member. <br />Alameda County <br />• Office of Emergency Services <br />• Alameda County Fire Department <br />• Alameda Public Health Department <br />2.B. <br />Alameda County Office of Emergency Services report that the Emergency Operations <br />Center (EOC) is activated 9-5 M-F, with daily conference calls with cities stakeholders, <br />and weekly with other stakeholders. Public Health is looking at modeling and <br />predictions of when peak will be and will use the information to make decisions in <br />future. Long Term Care facilities (LTC) are top priority and a new order was issued <br />re-enforcing the protective measures for these sites, which continue to have staffing <br />shortages and at least two major outbreaks. The Care and Shelter branch is gathering <br />information about feeding and testing sites that cities have set up and will be mapping <br />them. There are two hotels for unsheltered populations, Operation Comfort and Safer <br />Ground. Supplies of some PPE are good, while others are difficult to obtain. 3500 <br />prisoners are scheduled to be released from CDCR, 30 will be released into the county <br />under Post Release Community Supervision and will be housed in hotels, until other <br />arrangements can be made. <br />Alameda County Fire Department reported that call volume is down and they are <br />preparing for a surge. Staff levels are good and they are being monitored during the <br />shifts and trained to assist with testing. <br />San Leandro City <br />• San Leandro City Manager <br />• San Leandro Police <br />2.C <br />Jeff Kay, City Manager, excited about two programs that are being rolled out to assist <br />the community. Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program has provided <br />$450,000 to support the COVID response and East Bay Community Energy is <br />providing grants to all of their member cities. RHS staff have been working on <br />providing service for the homeless and getting at-risk people into hotels. Through <br />Councilmember Lee, we have been able to connect to the Huaren Rotary and several <br />affiliated groups, who donated masks and medical supplies. Working with Davis <br />Street on rental assistance. In discussion with Eden Health Care District for setting up <br />a testing site in San Leandro. <br />Chief Tudor, San Leandro Police, reported on how staff monitoring continues, calls for <br />service are down, department received a donation of masks. Staff continue to respond <br />to COVID-19 violations and are providing education on the Health Order. The <br />community adhered to the closure of parks over Easter.
