April 23, 2020Disaster Council Minutes <br />ACFD for a drive by thank you for hospital staff. <br />San Leandro Hospital finalized the surge plan and will be able to care for all patients. <br />Davis Street Family Resource Center is providing childcare at Jefferson and Lakeside <br />and have space for essential workers. They have been providing food to an average of <br />80-90 families daily. They are working to provide food to those in homes and are <br />partnering with local producers. Testing continues at the clinic. <br />Red Cross continues to refine its procedures for restrictions that might occur in <br />addition to COVID-19 time and are working to find hotels to assist in housing displaced <br />residents if there is a need. <br />San Leandro Elder Care Alliance is looking to coordinate with the care communities <br />within the City and to find ways to overcome some of the challenges they have, such <br />as testing. <br />School Districts <br />• San Leandro <br />• San Lorenzo <br />2.E. <br />San Leandro Unified School District provided an update on their successful food <br />distribution program with has been modified to allow for quicker service. The cleaning <br />and disinfecting programs and construction projects are ahead of schedule. Parents, <br />teachers and students are embracing the new distancing learning program, and <br />teachers are able to check in on the well-being of students. The District is getting in <br />touch with families without Wi-Fi access to make arrangements for assignments to be <br />completed, while also working to close the digital divide by working with local internet <br />providers and the State, and to provide drive up Wi-Fi access on district-owned <br />property. <br />San Lorenzo Unified School District provided Chromebooks to students and are <br />working with Comcast to provide discounts.
