RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2022-xx <br /> <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO CITY COUNCIL TO <br />ACCEPT GRANT AWARDS FROM CALFIRE IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,499,400 FOR <br />STREET TREE PLANTING WITH 100K TREES FOR HUMANITY TO ACCOUNT 150- <br />3607 AND APPROPRIATE THE SAME $1,499,400 INTO ACCOUNT 150-12-035-5120 <br />FOR FISCAL YEAR 2021-2022 <br /> <br /> <br />WHEREAS, by the California Urban Forestry Act of 1978 and the Public <br />Resources Code 4799.06-4799.12, CALFIRE is authorized to optimize the benefits of <br />trees and related vegetation through the California Climate Investments (CCI) Urban & <br />Community Forestry Grant Program, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said procedures established by CALFIRE require the Applicant to <br />certify by resolution the approval of the application that is submitted to the State; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, successful Applicants will enter into a contract with the CALFIRE to <br />complete the scope of the project as outlined in the grant application. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro hereby <br />RESOLVES that: <br /> <br />1. Appropriation of Grant Funds to Account 150-12-035-5120 is authorized; and <br /> <br />2. Action by the City Manager is approved, and execution is authorized to accept <br />the grant awards in the combined amount of $1,499,400 for street tree planting <br />and part-time tree care staff positions with 100K Trees for Humanity; and <br /> <br />3. The City of San Leandro, as the Applicant, certifies that if the project is awarded, <br />the Applicant has or will have sufficient funds to operate and maintain the project; <br />and <br /> <br />4. The City of San Leandro, as the Applicant, certifies that the Applicant has <br />reviewed, understands, and agrees to the General Provisions contained in the <br />contract shown in the Grant Acceptance Form; and <br /> <br />5. The City Council delegates the authority to the City Manager or her designees <br />(Deputy City Manager, Sustainability Manager, Public Works Director, Finance <br />Director) to sign and submit all documents, including, but not limited to <br />applications, agreements, amendments, and payment requests, which may be <br />necessary for the completion of the Grant Scope; and <br /> <br />6. The City of San Leandro agrees to comply with all applicable federal, state and <br />local laws, ordinances, rules, regulations and guidelines. <br />
