Sincerely, Your IT Team City Council and Mayor, Good morning, I am writing you today to urge that you support the ordinance for AB481 as recommended by Chief Pridgen as is. Monday's meeting will no doubt have callers that are being rallied by a local organizer that you are familiar with. Besides the maybe 2 dozen residents he will round up to oppose this ordinance and push for more he may use the Social Justice Academy again to help amplify his desires to further tie the police department's hands behind their backs while protecting us. Caving in to his anti-police rhetoric could put officers and the residents of San Leandro at risk. Chief Pridgen was selected to run this department, I have heard great things about his past work, do not let a few squeaky wheels interfere with that work. In closing, remember you will hear from a relatively small group pushing for more restrictive policies than required under AB 481, but hearing their voices is the easy part. The real task is representing the other 89 thousand residents in San Leandro and protecting them and representing their desires for reduced crime and a police department that can protect and serve them.
