Neighborhood Outreach Summary
Attachment D
September 22, 2002
District 6. Russ added that he is willing to work with the neighbors to get as much money
allocated to District 6 improvements as possible.
Avoiding Future Misunderstandings:
Neighbors suggested their desire to be informed of the details of such projects earlier.
They felt that if a meeting such as this had happened at the beginning stages of the project, and
neighbors had input on the proposal, the developer probably wouldn't have met so much
resistance.
It was requested that the next meeting regarding the project be noticed in the newspaper.
Since it was agreed that the Planning Commission Work Session on October 1, 2002 would be
the next forum for discussion on the project, it will be advertised in the newspaper. Neighbors
agreed to encourage their interested neighbors to come to the work session, however some stated
that there may not be any more turn out than at this evenings meeting. Staff requested that if
neighbors anticipate a large turnout, staff be notified in enough time to find a larger room for the
meeting.
Next Steps:
1. Russ agreed to find out about FedEx Ground's weekend operating hours.
2. Carole Rinaldi agreed to include the project and promote the Work Session in the
upcoming edition of her newsletter.
3. Russ offered to hold more Neighborhood Outreach Meetings if these leaders felt that
there was sufficient interest. It was agreed that the Planning Commission Work Session
would be enough.
4. Neighbors agreed to inform their neighbors of the upcoming Planning Commission Work
Session on October 1, 2002.
S U L L I VA N co"7naut-ziccrti0"S
Call Toll Free: 888.SPE AK.2U Email:SullivanGSullivanCommunications.com
Page 5 of 5
