Result in the loss of availability of a locally,
X
2,7
important mineral resource recovery site
delineated on a local general plan, specific plan
or other land useplan?
EXPLANATION: There are no known mineral resources located within the boundaries of the project area. Therefore, no impacts
to mineral resources are anticipated.
8. HAZARDS AND HAZARDOUS MATERIALS. Would the project:
a. Create a significant hazard to the public or the
X
2
environment through the routine transport, use,
or disposal of hazardous materials?
b. Create a significant hazard to the public or the
X
2
environment through reasonably foreseeable
upset and accident conditions involving the
release of hazardous materials into the
environment?
C. Emit hazardous emissions or handle hazardous
X
2
or acutely hazardous materials, substances, or
waste within one -quarter mile of an existing or
proposed school?
d. Be located on a site which is included on a list
X
2
of hazardous materials sites and, as a result,
would it create a significant hazard to the
public or the environment?
For a project located within an airport land use
X
2,7
plan, would the project result in a safety hazard
for people residing or working in the project
area?
f. For a project within the vicinity of a private
X
2,7
airstrip, would the project result in a safety
hazard for people residing or working in the
project area?
g. Impair implementation of or physically
X
2
interfere with an adopted emergency response
plan or emergency evacuationplan?
h. Expose people or structures to a significant risk
X
2,7
of loss, injury or death involving wildland
fires, including where wildlands are adjacent to
urbanized areas or where residences are
intermixed with wildlands?
EXPLANATION: The project site has been vacant for at least 30 years, not been identified as a hazardous site and has no history
of use of hazardous materials. Future tenants of a commercial development would be required to adhere to existing Fire Department
(and other local/state agencies) guidelines for the storage and/or use of hazardous materials on -site. Impacts are anticipated to be
less than significant. The project site is not located within an airport land use plan nor in the vicinity of a private airstrip, nor is it
subject to wildland fires.
9. NOISE. Would the project result in:
a. Exposure of persons to or generation of noise
X
2
levels in excess of standards established in the
local general plan or noise ordinances, or
applicable standards of other agencies?
. Exposure of persons to or generation of
X
2
excessive groundborne vibration of
oundborne noise levels?
555 Estudillo - Initial Study Checklist 7 December 2001
(Form rev. 11/06/00) 2 1
