POTENTIALLY
ISSUES
POTENTIALLY
SIGNIFICANT
LESS THAN
NO
SIGNIFICANT
UNLESS
SIGNIFICANT
IMPACT
SOURCES
ISSUES
MITIGATION
IMPACT
INCORPORATED
RECREATION. 2
I a. Would the project increase the use of existing X
neighborhood and regional parks or other
recreational facilities such that substantial
physical deterioration of the facility would
occur or be accelerated?
b. Does the project include recreational facilities X 2, 7
or require the construction or expansion of
recreational facilities which might have an
adverse physical effect on the environment?
EXPLANATION: It is likely that subsequent development of the site will not include any public open space areas due to the small
size of the parcel and its location within an urban context. Given the scale of development possible in this site, the impacts to the
use of existing neighborhood and regional parks/facilities are anticipated to be less than significant. A park -in -lieu fee will be
required of any future development involving housing.
14 AESTHETICS. Would the project:
a. Have a substantial adverse effect on a scenic
vista?
b. Substantially damage scenic resources,
including, but not limited to, trees, rock
outcroppings, and historic buildings within a
state scenic highway?
C. Substantially degrade the existing visual
character or quality of the site and its
d. Create a new source of substantial light or
glare which would adversely affect day or
nighttime views in the area?
e. Create significant shadow effects on adjacent
X 1 1 2
A
X 1 1 2
X 1 1 2
X 1 1 2
UWIu u:
EXPLANATION: The property abuts a single-family home with a shingled water -tower that dates back to 1912. Development on
this site would block the view of this structure from Estudillo Avenue. This site, however, can already be developed with the
existing zoning, therefore changing the zoning will not significantly impact aesthetics on the site.
15 CULTURAL RESOURCES. Would the project:
a. Cause a substantial adverse change in the
significance of a historical resource as defined
in section 15064.5?
b. Cause a substantial adverse change in the
significance of an archaeological resource
pursuant to section 15064.5?
C. Directly or indirectly destroy a unique
paleontological resource or site or unique
1 feature9
X 1 1 2
X 1 1 2
X 1 1 2
eo o c
d. Disturb any human remains, including those X 2
interred outside of formal cemeteries? IF
EXPLANATION: There are no known cultural resources in the project area. Potential impacts related to unknown cultural
resources that may be encountered during a construction phase will be required to follow the guidelines outlined in Sections 15064.5
and 15126.4 of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).
555 Estudillo - Initial Study Checklist 10 December 2001
(Form rev. 11/06/00)
2y
