COST OF THE OPTIONS <br />(These amounts are in addition to the estimated cost of $50,000 for the Nov. <br />5, 2002 Election to be conducted by the Alameda County Registrar's Office.) <br />All -Mail Ballot: Approximately $100,000 (This is an estimated amount <br />based on the election being conducted by the Alameda County Registrar <br />of Voters with 37,000 registered voters @ $2 to $3 per voter)* <br />Estimated cost of run-off election $ 100,000 <br />Precinct Voting: Consultant to assist w/ballots, sample ballots, renting <br />of election equipment, and election night tabulations is estimated at more <br />than $100,000. (See Sequoia Pacific Notes from 1999 attached.) <br />In addition, there would be a cost to employ part-time personnel for <br />approximately 3 months to assist with conduct of election, location of <br />polling sites, hiring of poll workers, mailing and processing of sample and <br />absentee ballots. (Part-time assistance at Admin. Asst. II level pay is <br />$20.15 per hour.) <br />The total projected cost of a precinct voting run-off is approximately <br />$160,655.00 based on the following estimates: <br />Consultant (add 10% to 1999 estimate) $110,000 <br />Postage/Sample Ballot (37,000 @ .37) 13,690 <br />Poll Workers ($379 X 55 precincts) 20,845 <br />Temporary Part-time (800 hrs. @ 20.15/hr) 16,120 <br />$160,655 <br />*During the March 5, 2002 Election, San Leandro had 36,912 registered voters. <br />4 <br />19� <br />
