Housing Element Update 4 September 17, 2001 <br />Board/Commission Findings <br />Not Applicable <br />Summary of Public Outreach Efforts <br />The Housing Element Update effort will include both an advisory committee and broader, <br />community meetings. Staff estimates that the Housing Element Ad Hoc Advisory <br />Committee will operate for about a 6-7 month period. <br />Fiscal Impact <br />Funds for the Contractual Services Agreement with Barry J. Miller, AICP, are already <br />included in the approved budget as part of the Planning Division's 2001-2002 work <br />program as adopted by the City Council. <br />The proposed amount for the Housing Element Update is approximately $45,000 and was <br />approved in the Planning Division's FY 2000-2001 budget. No further changes to the <br />budget are required at this time, nor do any other revenues need to be allocated for this <br />item. <br />Budeet Authority <br />Funds for preparation of the Housing Element Update was approved in the Community <br />Development Department's FY 2001-2002 budget as part of the overall program for the <br />General Plan Update. <br />Attachments <br />Draft Roster on the Housing Element Ad Hoc Advisory Committee <br />CONCLUSION <br />The appointment of the Housing Element Ad Hoc Advisory Committee will allow staff to <br />proceed with the citizen participation work effort on this important project and allow staff to <br />continue working in good faith with the staff from State HCD.
