Attachment 3 — Excerpt from Draft General Plan —
The East 14th Street Focus Area
Focus Areas within San .Leandro
blast San t eendm Sup. Some
of the Focus Areas have
been targeted for
immediate land use
changes or gradual
transition during the next
two decades; others have
special challenges
related to land use,
resource conservation,
transportation, urban
design, and other
planning issues.
Click on each section
below for more
information on each
focus area. The
discussion includes a
description of the area and relevant issues, followed by a set of planning strategies. In
some instances, preparation of more detailed plans has been recommended to provide
further direction for the Focus Areas in the future.
In many respects, the future of San Leandro lies within these 10 Areas. While new
development may occur throughout the City, these areas provide the greatest
opportunities for change. The strategies in this section are intended to shape City
reinvestment and private development in these areas in a way that maximizes benefits to
the community. In doing so, the City can move closer to seeing its Vision Statement
fulfilled and its goals achieved.
