best interest of the City, Departments may establish <br />flexible work schedules. Establishment of such schedules <br />shall be in the sole discretion of the Department Head with <br />the approval of the City Manager. <br />39.7 Probationary Period <br />Personnel Rule IX is amended as follows: <br />The probationary period for Public Safety Dispatchers is <br />eighteen (18) months. <br />39.8 Personnel Rules - Categories of Appointment <br />The Personnel Rules regarding categories of appointment <br />shall be amended as follows: <br />Probationary Appointment - The appointment of a person to a <br />position in a classification listed in Appendix "A" from an <br />employment list to serve the required probationary period <br />for that classification. <br />Provisional Appointment - The appointment of a person to a <br />position in a classification listed in Appendix "A" <br />pursuant to Section 5, Rule VIII of the Personnel Rules. <br />Permanent Appointment - The appointment of a person to a <br />position in a classification listed in Appendix "A" who has <br />completed the required probationary period in that <br />classification. <br />Temporary Appointment - The appointment of a person to a <br />position in a classification listed in Appendix "A" for a <br />specified duration not to exceed twenty-four (24) months. <br />The City shall provide notice to the Union of all temporary <br />appointments. <br />39.9 Bilingual Pay <br />Employees certified by <br />$20 per day bilingual <br />second language. <br />40.0 Tuition Reimbursement <br />the City as bilingual will receive <br />pay when they are required to use a <br />The Tuition Reimbursement Program is incorporated here by <br />reference.
