CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br />STAFF REPORT <br />DATE: November 9, 2000 <br />TO: John Jermanis, City Manager <br />FROM: Justinian Caire, Human Resources Director <br />VIA: Yana Taran, Personnel Analyst <br />F <br />and forwardedCouncil <br />�0�coz <br />-�onisi �,�er <br />SUBJECT: Matter of Authorization to approve the following Salary Resolution. <br />SUMMARY AND RECOMMENDATION <br />It is recommended that the City Council approve a resolution establishing salaries for the <br />Maintenance Assistant III; correct the salary ranges for the existing classifications of <br />Library Director, Senior Personnel Analyst, Recreation Specialist I, Senior Lifeguard, <br />Aquatic Specialist; and delete classifications of Senior Computer Operator, Computer <br />Operator, Sanitation Operations Supervisor, Deputy City Manager, Senior Library <br />Assistant -Automated Systems and Monitor <br />BACKGROUND <br />Maintenance Assistant III will be an addition to the part-time Maintenance Assistance <br />series. Corrections needed to be made to the Recreation Specialist I, Senior Lifeguard, <br />Aquatic Specialist and Senior Personnel Analyst classifications. <br />The City Council has already approved the reorganization of the Community Services <br />Department and it has been split into two new departments: Library Department and <br />Recreation —Human Services Department. The Library Director job classification no <br />longer includes the management responsibilities over Recreation and Human -Services <br />activities and by January of 2001 the responsibility of supervising the new library move <br />in and organization will be complete. As a result, it is recommended that the salary range <br />for the Library Director be set at$7,262-$7,628-$8,008-$8,370-$8,826 per month. <br />Senior Computer Operator, Computer Operator, Sanitation <br />Deputy City Manager, Senior Library Assistant -Automate <br />classifications became obsolete and therefore needed to be <br />Schedule. <br />Current City Council Policy <br />Not Applicable <br />d <br />Operations Supervisor, <br />Systems and Monitor <br />deleted from the Salary <br />Staff Council Meeting 11/20/00 <br />1 151 <br />
