CITY COUNCIL OF SAN LEANDRO <br />MINUTE ORDER <br />NO. 99-43 <br />SUBJECT: West San Leandro/MacArthur Boulevard Redevelopment Project <br />Area; Options Regarding Adoption of the Final Redevelopment Plan <br />MEETING DATE: June 14, 1999 <br />Minute Order No. 99-43, Options Regarding Adoption of the Final Redevelopment Plan for <br />the West San Leandro/MacArthur Boulevard Redevelopment Project Area. (1120) <br />The City Council selected Option 3 of the staff report, which included changes to the Draft <br />Development Plan as follows: <br />Option 3: Direct staff to prepare an ordinance of the City Council of the City of San <br />Leandro, adopting the "Draft Redevelopment Plan for the West San Leandro/MacArthur <br />Boulevard Redevelopment Project Area" (Tab 4 of the April 23, 1999, Staff Report binder), <br />with certain corrections, as outlined under "Draft Redevelopment Plan," and include the <br />changes to the Draft Redevelopment Plan proposed by the Planning commission and those <br />changes proposed by the Redevelopment Advisory Committee: <br />The adoption of Section 311, as recommended by the Planning Commission, with <br />the exception that the first sentence should be changed to read as follows: <br />"If the Redevelopment Advisory Committee or its successor body (if any) so directs, <br />the The following projects shall be submitted to the Planning Commission for review <br />and recommendation prior to submittal to the Redevelopment Agency." <br />Appendix C, Section 2: The RAC requests the Planning Commission's <br />recommended language be modified to indicate that "...the Agency will use its best <br />efforts to coordinate these programs...." <br />In addition to the above changes, the RAC also recommends the following change to the <br />MacArthur Boulevard Master Streetscape and Gateway Plan project description to ensure <br />adequate design flexibility: <br />Appendix C, Section 2.c: Change the second to the last line to read: The Project <br />could should include narrowing MacArthur to create more parking and wider <br />sidewalks and should create distinctive gateways into San Leandro. <br />M/S/C Glaze and Nardine.
