IMMEDIATE PRIORITY <br />4. Investigate Zoning Code revisions to increase <br />compatibility between industrial, commercial <br />and residential uses: <br />• Establish transition and buffer zones between <br />residential and industrial uses <br />• Establish limits on hours of operation for uses <br />adjacent to residential zones <br />• Modify landscaping requirements for industrial <br />districts to require additional landscaping and <br />trees <br />• Rezone properties, where appropriate, to <br />eliminate conflicts <br />• The approval process for trucking uses near <br />residential zones should incorporate conditions <br />which limit impact on residential areas <br />• Establish a higher level of zoning review for <br />new uses that impact residential properties <br />• Reduce conflicts such as noise and traffic <br />• Reduce noise impact on residential uses <br />• Enhance the appearance of industrial areas and <br />create buffers between industrial, commercial <br />and residential areas <br />• Eliminate industrial/residential conflicts <br />• Reduce truck traffic, idling and noise adjacent <br />to residential zones <br />• Reduce impact of noise and traffic, and <br />improve the appearance of industrial properties <br />• Require increased sound mitigation in impacted • Reduce noise from freeway and other sources <br />areas (i.e. double paned windows, insulation, <br />etc.) <br />5. Enhance library services at the <br />Mulford Branch Library (selection of <br />books, resource materials, hours of <br />operation, services) <br />• Enhance library services available to west San <br />Leandro youth <br />
