IMMEDL4TE PRIORITY <br />B. Increase youth activities in west San <br />Leandro. Following are some <br />suggestions made by a panel of youth <br />from west San Leandro. <br />• Increase access to swimming (i.e. use Muir <br />pool for cbmmunity swimming.) <br />• Increase access to basketball (i.e. install half <br />courts at Marina Park, establish Citywide <br />basketball league, provide more locations to <br />play basketball.) <br />• Encourage shared use of school facilities for <br />activities such as dances. <br />• Encourage youth organizations to establish <br />satellite offices in west San Leandro. <br />• Improve communication with youth in west <br />San Leandro sothat they know what programs <br />are available! <br />• Encourage youth organizations to establish <br />satellite offices in the west San Leandro area <br />• Establish a City-wide basketball league and <br />provide more locations to play basketball <br />• Use John Muir pool for community swimming <br />• Use elementary school auditoriums for youth <br />dances <br />• Ensure that all youth activities are affordable <br />• Encourage shared use of school facilities <br />8 <br />
