Note: The following recommendations are advisory in nature. The Committee felt that they <br />were all important and should be included in the report for consideration by the City Council, <br />staff and various Boards and Commissions. <br />ADVISOR Y RECOMMENDA TIONS <br />Install "right turn only" sign on Neptune Drive (north bound) and "left turn only" sign on <br />Neptune Drive (south bound) <br />DInvestigate best use of Eden Road <br />Incorporate West San Leandro Advisory Committee recommendations into the General Plan, <br />Redevelopment Plan, and Davis Street Specific Plan processes <br />DContinue with the following actions to reduce the impact of train horns: <br />• Advocate for a change in State and Federal law which requires sounding train horns at intersections <br />• Continue communication with railroad <br />• Explore feasibility of automated train horn system <br />Work with regional agencies to encourage stricter enforcement of state and federal emissions <br />standards, and make information available to the community <br />Establish programs to combat crime in commercial areas <br />Continue to Improve maintenance of the Marina, especially the children's area and the par <br />course <br />Enhanced Community Services — Refer the following recommendations to the Human <br />Resources Commission: <br />• Investigate separating Parks and Recreation from Community Services <br />The West San Leandro Advisory Committee recognizes the importance of quality schools to the <br />community and supports all actions that improve quality of education in San Leandro <br />Promote environmentally sustainable manufacturing practices by San Leandro businesses <br />Include policy for sustainable planning/ development in the General Plan <br />Aggressively pursue development of the Marina Conference Center Development <br />>-Continued improvement of the Marina, including: upgrading the golf course, add hotels and <br />restaurants <br />14 <br />s <br />
