Boersma (property owner).
SUMMARY AND RECOMMENDATION
® This matter was heard by the City Council at its September 7, 1999 meeting. After public
testimony and discussion the Council continued the matter to its September 20, 1999 meeting with
the suggestion that the applicant revise the site plan to lessen the impact of the four-story hotel on
San Lorenzo residents located to the south of the site. Council Members supported relocating the
hotel closer to Lewelling Boulevard and placing the self -storage facility along the flood control
channel to serve as a buffer between the hotel and residences. The Council also directed staff to
prepare for its consideration a resolution with findings to deny the rezoning and planned
development applications if the site plan is not revised.
On September 10, 1999 the applicant provided staff with a revised site plan that responds to the
concerns expressed by the City Council at its September 7`h meeting. Staff recommends that the
City Council review the revised site plan and, if they believe that it is acceptable, refer the
applications back to the Planning Commission for a public hearing and recommendation with
appropriate revisions to the Conditions of Approval.
Alternatively, if the City Council believes that the revised site plan does not adequately mitigate
their concerns, the City Council may adopt the attached resolution containing findings of fact for
denial of the rezoning and planned development applications.
•
