Jerinani t <br />City Manager <br />mo <br />i% <br />-Q9 <br />As reported at the City Council November 1, 1999 meeting, the City Council Rules and <br />Communications Committee recommends that the City Council approve at its December 20, 1999 <br />meeting the following technological resources to be made available to the City Council for their <br />use in performing their official City business. <br />BACKGROUND <br />The City Council directed staff to identify various technological resources that could assist the <br />City Council in performing their official duties. These resources were separated into three distinct <br />categories: City Council technology — cafeteria plan; City Council agenda packet information; <br />City Council communications. <br />DISCUSSION <br />City Council Technology — cafeteria plan: Staff compiled a list of resources that was presented to <br />and reviewed by the Rules and Communications Committee at the Committee's October 26, 1999 <br />meeting. The Committee has included in its recommendation a variety of different resources so <br />each City Council Member could choose items from the list that would best meet their individual <br />needs while at the same time establishing a standard products list. The recommended list is <br />attached for Council consideration. <br />City Council Agenda Packet Information - The Rules and Communications Committee <br />recommends that this item be referred to the Facilities Committee for inclusion in that <br />Committee's discussion regarding the City Council Chambers under the category of multimedia <br />technology/presentations. <br />City Council Communications - The Rules and Communications Committee reviewed several <br />options regarding the City Manager's communications with the City Council and recommended <br />
