Although the Boys and Girls Club has attempted to address the building's maintenance <br />needs, most of the Club's funding is earmarked for programming related costs. The City <br />will consider utilizing General Funds and/or CDBG Funds to support the costs associated <br />with the building improvements. The City Council Finance Committee suggested that <br />funds also be allocated to buy furniture and make repairs to the kitchen: <br />The City Council Finance Committee requested information on how much revenue the <br />Boys and Girls Club fund raising campaign brings in each year. The Committee wanted to <br />be assured that the Boys and Girls Club did not lessen its enthusiasm to increase its <br />campaign funding efforts as the City attempts to reduce the financial burden associated <br />with the maintenance of the building. <br />M. 1997-98 Budget Strategies <br />John Jermanis distributed the proposed 1997-98 Budget Strategies to the City Council <br />Finance Committee. He informed the Committee that staff would be developing a report <br />which will summarize the issues identified by City Council Finance Committee and its <br />recommendations to the City Council. The report will also include recommendations for <br />new programs and discuss the Committee's desire to generate additional revenue and <br />identify savings. <br />The Citv Council Finance Committee asked staff how the Main Library retrofit project <br />would be presented in the 1997-98 budget. John Jermanis informed the Committee that <br />the library retrofit could be included in the New and Expanded Programs section of the <br />FY 1997-98 budget. <br />IV. City Investment Policy Review <br />John Jermanis presented the City of San Leandro Investment Policy to the City Council <br />Finance Committee. He informed the Committee that staff presents the policy to .the City <br />Council each year He went on to say that safety and liquidity of principal is the main <br />concern of the City. There are no changes recommended to the City's investment policy <br />at this time. <br />The City Council Finance Committee suggested that the Investment Policy be shared with <br />new Citv Council Members during the City Council Member briefings. <br />V.
