THEME: PARTICIPATION/STRONG GOVERNMENT/ACCESS The San Leandro City Council desires strong ties to every aspect of the community, where citizens are asked for input often and early during the process; where local government works in both local and regional collaboration; where long-range, multi -year planning is promoted; where partnership with the Chamber of Commerce and other community organizations is established; and where widespread participation is encouraged. THEME: PUBLIC SAFETY/PREPAREDNESS The San Leandro City Council supports a safe and secure community, where residents are confident and children play without worry; where neighborhood watch programs are supported; and where neighbors are prepared to assist each other. The Council will continue to support disaster preparedness recovery plans. THEME: LIBRARY The San Leandro City Council desires to provide the best possible community Library system, where facilities and amenities are of technological excellence and programs are diverse and easily accessible. THEME: ENTRY WAYS The San Leandro City Council desires to improve the entrances to the City by creating welcoming, distinctive settings that promote the City in a positive manner, and remind the residents of our community spirit. THEME: CULTURE/FAMILY ACTIVITIES The San Leandro City Council supports multi -cultural and family activities; and will make every effort to provide the kinds of programs and facilities that are most desired by the community.
