THEME: INDUSTRY/MANUFACTURING The San Leandro City Council is committed to the idea that San Leandro is a model pro - business city, which strives to maintain a strong manufacturing and industrial base; where there is a strong working relationship with the Chamber of Commerce and other business associations; which takes advantage of the regional transportation opportunities and the Port of Oakland; and where businesses desire to locate based on the accessibility to surrounding businesses, as well as the Bay Area, and the global economy. THEME: SAN LEANDRO SHORELINE The San Leandro City Council acknowledges the Shoreline as a resource and benefit to the community and region, and supports developments and business activities that strengthen the San Leandro Shoreline and Marina, specifically those which respect the natural resources, and which are both high quality and long-term self-supporting. The Shoreline and Marina should provide a variety of experiences, including environmental, educational, ice -recreation activities boating, and the enjoyment of a first-class municipal golf course for both local residents and the greater region, oating, and the —a eyfnentef a fffsrelass THEME: PARKS/RECREATION/YOUTH The San Leandro City Council is committed to providing a wide array of recreational opportunities to the youth of the community. Strong youth programs and activities should be provided in relationship to the -need, and in collaboration with the schools and business community. Economic and land use development decisions will include consideration of the benefit to the community's youth, and collaboration should occur with neighborhoods and local organizations to create programs and activities for the further enhancement of the parks.
