THEME: INDUSTRY/MANUFACTURING <br />The San Leandro City Council is committed to the idea that San Leandro is a model pro - <br />business city, which strives to maintain a strong manufacturing and industrial base; where <br />there is a strong working relationship with the Chamber of Commerce and other business <br />associations; which takes advantage of the regional transportation opportunities and the Port <br />of Oakland; and where businesses desire to locate based on the accessibility to surrounding <br />businesses, as well as the Bay Area, and the global economy. <br />THEME: SAN LEANDRO SHORELINE <br />The San Leandro City Council acknowledges the Shoreline as a resource and benefit to the <br />community and region, and supports developments and business activities that strengthen <br />the San Leandro Shoreline and Marina, specifically those which respect the natural <br />resources, and which are both high quality and long-term self-supporting. The Shoreline <br />and Marina should provide a variety of experiences, including environmental, educational, <br />ice -recreation activities boating, and the enjoyment of a first-class municipal golf course for <br />both local residents and the greater region, oating, and the —a eyfnentef a fffsrelass <br />THEME: PARKS/RECREATION/YOUTH <br />The San Leandro City Council is committed to providing a wide array of recreational <br />opportunities to the youth of the community. Strong youth programs and activities should <br />be provided in relationship to the -need, and in collaboration with the schools and business <br />community. Economic and land use development decisions will include consideration of <br />the benefit to the community's youth, and collaboration should occur with neighborhoods <br />and local organizations to create programs and activities for the further enhancement of the <br />parks. <br />
