The City Council requested staff review the proposed uses for the property in order to allow further input from surrounding residents, if warranted, as well as a "call-up" provision, should it be deemed necessary to bring such issues back to the Planning Commission for discussion and/or hearing. Matter of A-97-4; Reclassification from NA-2 North Area-2 to NA-2 (PD) North Area-2 Planned Development District; and PD- 97-26 05-19-97 1099/ 97-4; Planned Development to Construct a 3-Story, 144-Unit, 1009 Assisted- Living, Retirement Community; 928, 1000, and 1010 East 14th Street; Southeast Corner of East 14th Street and Haas Avenue; Assessor's Parcel Number 76-440-8, 9, and 14-4; McEngle Partners; NA-2 North Area-2 District. The City Council certified the Negative Declaration for PD-97-4 as complete and in compliance with CEQA requirements; approved the rezoning of A-97-4 to NA-2 (PD) North Area-2 Planned Development District; and approved the Planned Development, PD-97-4, subject to the Conditions of Approval. City Council Consensus. (Public Comments) There was -- 06-02-97 -- Council consensus to direct staff to bring back a report regarding election dates, costs, and required language translations. City Council Consensus -- Bancroft -Dutton Area Re. speeding, -- 06-02-97 -- parking, crosswalks, and bus stops. (Public Comments) There was Council consensus to refer this matter to staff. After further, brief discussion, staff was directed to bring a report on the Bancroft/Dutton traffic issues, including cost estimates, back to the Council for their Work Session scheduled for June 23, 1997, at which time the East 14th Street Update will be before the Council, as well. Given the public interest in the issues to be discussed during the Work Session on June 23, 1997, Council Member Loeffler suggested an effort be made to make sure the meeting date and time is publicized. It was noted that June 23, 1997, is only a Work Session, and no action will be taken; the issue will be coming back to Council at a later date for Council action, at which time the public will have an opportunity for input.
