>>>>KEY RECOMMENDATIONS <br />05SAN LEANDRO EQUITY PLANEXECUTIVE SUMMARY <br />Equitable professional development, promotion <br />and evaluation is critical to employee well-being <br />and retention. <br />City must implement targeted engagement, outreach, and <br />communication strategies to ensure equitable access to <br />information, City services, programs, contracts and <br />opportunities by the diverse communities, neighborhoods, <br />and groups within San Leandro, and to advance empowerment, <br />well-being, and a culture of belonging. <br />Resources must be dedicated to implementation, monitoring, <br />measurement, analysis, and accountability of DEIB initiatives <br />to ensure DEIB is infused in City policies, practices, procedures, <br />processes, and structures and is sustainable. <br />City must establish and enforce core values, principles, and protocols <br />that center Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) as <br />foundational to creating a culture of Belonging. <br />In 2016, the San Leandro City Council Multicultural Ad Hoc Committee <br />recommended that the City…“Take steps to make inclusiveness and <br />diversity pervasive throughout the organization.”1 <br />With the implementation of the recommendations included in this Eq- <br />uity Plan (Plan), the City takes a transformative step toward realizing <br />inclusion, diversity, equity and belonging throughout the organization. <br />The following recommendations target foundational change called out <br />in the Plan: <br />1
