SAN LEANDRO EQUITY PLANPROBLEM STATEMENT: <br />The City to conduct a GIS mapping analysis of distribution and access to City <br />resources and services to determine whether and to what extent disparities <br />exist among various constituencies and communities in San Leandro regarding <br />access to and allocation of City resources and services. The City to utilize <br />targeted strategies, actions, practices, and policies to ensure equitable access <br />and allocation of City resources and services. <br />RATIONALE FOR RECOMMENDATION Cities that utilize targeted strat- <br />egies to close access and service disparities based on how constituents are <br />situated relative to geography, structures and systems create a greater sense <br />of belonging for all residents. GIS mapping enables the City to develop targeted <br />strategies based on the findings of the mapping. <br />RECOMMENDATION #5 <br />There is a perception that there is a racial and geographic divide regarding how resources are <br />accessed and distributed across different City neighborhoods, as well as how policies and <br />practices differ across City geography. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS//COMMUNITY <br />ENGAGEMENT AND OUTREACH <br />24
