' CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br />STAFF REPORT <br />Date : February 28, 1996 <br />To: Mike Oliver, City Manager <br />From: Bob Taylor, Public Works Services <br />APPROVED AND <br />FORWARDED <br />TO CITY COUNCIL <br />Mike Oliver <br />City Manager <br />Subject: Residential Refuse and Recycling Services Rate Study - Contractual Services <br />Agreement - Barakat & Chamberlin, Inc. <br />SUMMARY AND RECOMMENDATION <br />On December 18, 1995, the City Council directed staff to prepare a list of valuative criteria <br />for analyzing proposals by the City's existing Refuse Service and San Leandro Recycling for <br />the continuance and enhancement of their services. A work session presentation of the service <br />options was made on February 13, 1996. At that meeting, representatives from the firm of <br />Barakat & Chamberlin were introduced as the professional team selected to assist the City by <br />benchmarking the service options against comparable service in other jurisdictions and <br />evaluating the proposals received from the City Refuse Operation and San Leandro Recycling. <br />A Contractual Services Agreement with a "not to exceed" price of $50,400 has been prepared <br />for Barakat & Chamberlin to provide this professional assistance to the City. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Adopt Resolution approving Contractual Services Agreement with Barakat & Chamberlin. <br />BACKGROUND <br />On December 18, 1995, the City Council directed staff to prepare a list of valuative criteria <br />for analyzing proposals by the City's existing Refuse Service and San Leandro Recycling for <br />the continuance and enhancement of their services.
