Mike Oliver <br />February 28, 1996 <br />page 2 <br />At the February 13, 1996 work session, Council indicated their interest in receiving proposals <br />for the following service options from the service providers: <br />San Leandro Recycling <br />• Current Curbside Recycling Program --Three City furnished bins for recycling with <br />unlimited green waste using customer provided green waste containers. Recyclables and green <br />waste collected on an every other week basis. <br />• Supercycle -- Current program expanded to collect #3 through #7 plastics, used motor oil, <br />scrap metal, and aluminum foil, pans,etc. San Leandro Recycling provided 96 gallon green <br />waste containers upon request. <br />Refuse Enterprise Operation <br />• Current Program -- Rear yard garbage service, customer's 32 gallon can. <br />• Curbside Garbage Service -- City furnished wheeled container. <br />• Current Curbside Recycling Program -- Three City furnished bins for recycling with <br />unlimited green waste using customer provided green waste containers. Recyclables and green <br />waste collected on an every other week basis. <br />• Modification to Current Curbside Recycling Program -- Every other week collection of <br />96 gallons of green waste using City provided wheeled containers. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The proposed Contractual Services Agreement provides for Barakat & Chamberlin to <br />evaluate the above service options, benchmark them with other cities, and provide technical <br />and economic analysis for the City Council during the evaluation process. <br />154 <br />
