V. Public Comments <br />- - 40 <br />Charles Coffin - Thinks that the majority of taxpayers will support the new <br />Residence Inn. The Conference Center will be dependent upon the business at the <br />Inn. <br />Ron Musgrove - Applauded John Jermanis on his investment policies. <br />Questioned how the new Lucky complex fits into the City's revenues. Mr. <br />Musgrove stated that the industrial area has major seismic problems that will <br />affect more people in the downtown area. Many businesses built 30 years ago <br />were tilt -up buildings and could possibly be a problem. Mr. Musgrove would be <br />open to offering the community advice as to how to improve the seismic safety of <br />his building. <br />Lee Ness - Offered the following three suggestions for the City Council Finance <br />Committee's consideration: 1) open refuse service for competition, 2) let all <br />new employees pay a percentage of PERS, and 3) privatize the Water Pollution <br />Control Plant. He concluded by saying that the Tony Lema Golf Course will <br />never pay for itself. <br />4 <br />
