STORM DRAINAGE CONNECTION WILLIAMS STREET TO MERCED SHEET - SCOPE OF WORK
Task 1 - Preliminary Investigation:
1.00 Boundary Mapping:
The CONSULTANT shall determine the affected property lines based on available record
information, and prepare an AUTOCADD drawing.
1.10 Utility Mapping:
The CONSULTANT shall identify all known underground utilities along the storm drain
alignment. This shall be accomplished by reviewing available plans, contacting USA, and
thoroughly investigating the site. The CITY will provide potholing as needed to determine exact
locations of underground facilities.
1.20 Topographic Survey:
The CONSULTANT shall perform a topographic survey of the proposed alignment. The survey
shall include, cross sections every 25 feet fence line, top of curb, edge of pavement, edge of
building, and boundary corners, if possible. In addition, the CONSULTANT shall survey paint
marking placed by USA.
1.30 Base Mapping:
The CONSULTANT shall combine all topography, boundary, and utility information into one
electronic file. This file shall be the base for all design work.
1.40 Preliminary Alignment:
The CONSULTANT shall design the preliminary alignment in AUTOCAD version 12 format
per City of San Leandro Standards.
1.50 Drainage Calculations:
The CONSULTANT shall prepare drainage calculations to determine storm drain pipe diameters
and hydraulic freeboard. Depending on the available hydrology/hydraulic information, the
CONSULTANT may be forced to make conservative assumptions as to the existing hydraulic
conditions. This project is not intended to include a comprehensive area wide drainage study.
Drainage calculations shall be approved by Alameda County Flood Control.
1.60 Preliminary Legal Documents:
The CONSULTANT shall prepare a plat and description for a storm drain easement and a
temporary construction easement for submittal to the CITY. The plats and descriptions will be
on 8-1/2" x I V exhibits.
January 24, 1996 Page 1
