Hesperian Boulevard Median Tree Plantings
Large canopy trees at 35 foot centers will be planted in an existing treeless median.
This will result in the planting of 43 additional trees. Tree species planted will be
from the attached lists from the City of San Leandro's Tree Master Plan. For these
tree plantings, trees would be selected from List #2, #3, #4 or #7. Fifteen gallon
planting stock will be used.
5. Doolittle Drive Tree Plantings
As outlined in the Airport Gateway Area Urban Design Concept (February 1999), the
easterly frontage of Doolittle Drive is to be planted with Yarwood Sycamore trees
(Platanus acerifolia `Yarwood') on 36 foot centers and the westerly frontage is to be
planted with Mexican Fan Palms (Washingtonia robusta) . This will result in the
planting of 28 Yarwood Sycamore Trees and 10 palm trees. Tree pits will be cut in
the existing concrete sidewalks. Because of the difficult growing conditionds at this
site and due to its importance as a gateway, 24-inch box trees will be planted.
EXHIBIT L
Page 32
