N <br />MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING <br />OAKLAND/SAN LEANDRO JOINT REVITALIZATION PLAN <br />CONTINUED IMPLEMENTATION <br />This memorandum of understanding (MOU) is made on DAP,: /6 / GCf by and <br />between the City of San Leandro, a municipal corporation ("San Leandro") and the City <br />of Oakland, a municipal corporation ("Oakland"), referred to collectively as the "Cities." <br />WHEREAS, the Cities of San Leandro and Oakland have completed and adopted a Joint <br />Revitalization Plan under the Association of Bay Area Governments' (ABAG) <br />Comprehensive Subregional Planning Project for the border area shared by the Cities; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the Cities are involved in implementing projects within the Joint <br />Revitalization Plan Area; and <br />WHEREAS, the Cities agree that continued cooperation and collaboration on projects <br />within the Revitalization Plan Area will be mutually beneficial to both communities. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the Cities hereto agree as follows: <br />1. AIRPORT GATEWAY. <br />a. The Cities will continue to move forward with implementation of each City's <br />specific tasks and capital improvements as related to the Airport Gateway Area Design <br />Project. <br />b• The Cities will continue to pursue grant funding to finance the improvements <br />within the Airport Gateway Area Design Project. <br />C. Regularly scheduled meetings of the Technical Advisory Committee, including <br />staff from the Cities, the Port of Oakland and other agencies as needed, will continue. <br />d. The existing Agreement related to the Airport Gateway Area Design Project will <br />remain in force until the project is completed. <br />2. JOBS <br />a• Collaboration will continue between the Cities to promote employment <br />opportunities for residents and businesses in both Cities. This cooperation will include <br />sharing information and extending mutual invitations for participation in job fairs held in <br />both Cities throughout the term of this Agreement. <br />
