C. Communication will be initiated between the, Planning Managers of both Cities <br />when any potential major development is identified within or nearby the Joint <br />Revitalization Plan area. This will permit the opportunity to discuss impacts and issues <br />early on in the development process, and the dialogue will continue through the project <br />until issues are addressed. <br />d• The emergency preparedness staff of both Cities, including Police, Fire and <br />Emergency Services/Office of Emergency Services managers, will meet to discuss joint <br />emergency preparedness planning. Both Cities will extend mutual invitations to <br />participate in additional emergency preparedness events that may take place throughout <br />the term of this Agreement, particularly those which occur within or near the Joint <br />Revitalization Plan area. <br />e• The Cities will collaborate on an annual Emergency Preparedness community <br />information event, similar to the successful Emergency Preparedness Block Party, which <br />was held on Breed Avenue in July 1999. <br />f• The Cities will continue to support localized police services within the Joi <br />Revitalization Plan area, nt <br />g• The Joint Revitalization Plan Coordinating Council and support staff from both <br />Cities will continue to meet monthly to monitor the progress of the projects and items <br />identified herein. This body will also continue to study the feasibility of joint projects <br />within the Joint Revitalization Plan area. <br />h• The Cities will provide mutual support to any projects resulting from joint <br />meetings between each City's Youth Advisory Commission. <br />1 Each City will identify a specific staff position which will be responsible for <br />maintaining continuity of the Joint Revitalization Plan, manage internal budgets, protect <br />records and serve as a centralized point of contact for all Plan elements. In San Leandro, <br />the position will be identified by the Planning Manager. In Oakland the position will be <br />identified by the Director of the Community and Economic Development Agency. <br />6• TERM. The term of this Agreement shall be from the date written above until July 1, <br />2000, unless extended by the written consent of all Parties. <br />7. FUNDING. <br />a• The Cities agree to continue funding of the position of Intedurisdictional <br />Quarterback and miscellaneous project costs not to exceed $25,000 total. The costs will <br />be shared equally by both Cities. <br />b• The City of Oakland will continue to fund the cost of the Commercial <br />Revitalization Coordinator and miscellaneous projects costs not to exceed $25,000 total. <br />
