4 <br />IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br />RESOLUTION NO. 98 - 39 (1315 ) <br />RESOLUTION APPOINTING STANDBY <br />OFFICERS PURSUANT TO <br />GOVERNMENT CODE §§ 8637 and 8638 <br />Recitals <br />The preservation of local government in the event of a disaster is a matter of vital concern <br />to the City of San Leandro. It is essential for the preservation of law and order and the <br />continuance of local services, that local units of government continue to function. The provisions <br />of the California Emergency Services Act (Government Code §§ 8635 et seq.,) authorize the <br />appointment of stand-by officers for each office of the legislative body and heads of departments <br />having duties in the maintenance of law and order or in the furnishing of public services relating to <br />health and safety. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SAN LEANDRO that the City Council hereby designates and appoints the following persons <br />as stand-by officers of the City of San Leandro for the office as shown herein. The number <br />designation of each stand-by officer shall be shown immediately prior to the name of such officer. <br />Mayor <br />1. Vice Mayor. <br />2. City Council Members by date of election. <br />• Alphabetical listing by last name (commencing with "A") in case of same <br />election date. <br />3. At large appointments to the Board of Zoning Adjustments. <br />4. At large appointments to the Planning Commission. <br />5. At large appointments to the Human Resources Commission <br />6. At large appointments to the Recreation and Parks Commission. <br />7. At large appointments to the Library Historical Commission. <br />1 <br />
