_ , ' Mr. Steve Fitzsimons Page 9 November 5, 1996
Task 1.0 - System Design: [TOTAL = $2,040]
TJKM will meet with CT Net developers and the TOC to discuss basic system design such as
hardware needs, communications, system architecture, and program operation.
Task 2 - Data Acquisition and Compiling Module: [TOTAL = $25,6801
Task 2.1: Detector Data (CT Net/170) - write a program which enables the Traffic
Database to access detector data (volume and occupancy) in 170 controllers, in 15 minute
increments, and convert detector data to Traffic Database input data (another program
below, Store System Configuration, sets up Traffic Database in terms of detector
assignments and addresses, etc.).
Resources: 6 hours to meet with Caltrans and review specific detector data formats in
CT Net and load and work sample data, and another 18 hours to write and debug a
translation program (total cost = $3,120)
Task 2.2: Detector Data (Econolite/Traconex) - write a program which enables the
Traffic Database to access detector data (volume and occupancy) in Econolite controllers,
in 15 minute increments, and convert detector data to Traffic Database input data
(another program below, Stored System Configuration, sets up Traffic Database in terms
of detector assignments and addresses, etc.).
Resources: 8 hours to meet with Econolite and Traconet, and review specific detector
data formats in Zone Master and Traconet, and load and work sample data, and another
16 hours to write and debug a translation program (total cost = $3,360)
Task 2.3: Controller Signal Timing Data (CT Net) - write a program which converts
controller data regarding programmed splits, offsets and coordination plans with actual
splits, offsets and coordination plans (by cycle and/or last 15 minutes - assumed only
functional when toggled on) to Traffic Database input data.
Resources: no need for independent meeting (see Task 1.1), writing program to convert
controller data to Traffic Database is 18 hours including debugging ($2,160)
Task 2.4: Controller Signal Timing Data (Econolite and Traconex) - write a program
which converts controller data such as programmed splits, offsets and coordination plans
with actual splits, offsets and coordination plans (by cycle and/or last 15 minutes -
assumed only functional when toggled on - such as F10 turns on "Split Monitor" in
Traconex and delivers output to both screen and printer) to Traffic Database input data.
Resources: no need for independent meeting with vendors (see Task 1.2), writing
program to convert controller data to Traffic Database is 20 hours including debugging
($2.400)
Task 2.5: Event Data (CT Net) - write a program which converts event monitor data
from signal controllers and CT Net to Traffic Database input data.
Resources: no need for independent meeting with Caltrans/CT Net developers (see
Task 1.1), writing program to convert controller event monitor data to Traffic Database
format is 14 hours including debugging ($1,680)
