the following policies are being established. The specifications are presented as working <br />guidelines, recognizing that trees are individually unique in form and structure, and that their <br />pruning needs may not always fit strict rules. The person pruning a tree must take responsibility <br />for any special pruning practices that may vary from these specifications. All specifications to be <br />waived during redevelopment period for trees on the existing Tony Lema Course. Operator shall <br />be allowed to perform any tree work required on the construction site without certifications, etc. <br />2. OVERVIEW OF SPECIFICATIONS <br />Any tree work performed on a golf facility tree must be done according to these specifications. <br />There are different criteria for pruning depending on the purpose for the pruning. <br />• Complete Prune specifications are used when circumstances deem the entire tree <br />needs to be fully pruned. <br />• Safety Prune Specifications require less pruning and are used when specific, <br />possibly hazardous (dead / dying) limbs need removal to eliminate all safety <br />concerns. Safety pruning may be recommended in some circumstances instead of <br />a complete prune. Safety pruning specifications are used for "as needed" pruning <br />as outlined above and address only safety concerns. Safety pruning includes only <br />the basic requirements and does not include the fine pruning detail work outlined <br />in a complete prune. <br />3. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS - The following requirements are for use during any <br />permitted pruning of City trees: <br />3.1 Proper disposal of all tree debris generated. <br />3.2 Assuring adequate safety of employees and the public. <br />4. CERTIFIED ARBORIST Any contracted tree company shall employ a full-time, <br />permanent certified arborist, as accredited by the International Society of Arboriculture. <br />This person is responsible for ensuring that the contractor's crews are performing work <br />according to these specifications.
