This program is to be <br />performed in a timely manner to insure proper control of all <br />pests on trees. This program is to be developed immediately and <br />maintained throughout the contract period. <br />2.3 SHRUBS <br />2.3.1 Prune shrubs to retain as much of the natural informal <br />appearance as possible on a timely basis or at the direction of the <br />Golf Course Operations Manager. <br />2.3.2 Shrubs used as formal hedges or screens shall be pruned as <br />required to present a neat, uniform appearance. <br />2.3.3 Remove any spent blossoms or dead flower stocks as required to <br />present a neat, clean appearance. <br />2.3.4 Plants growing over curbing and/or sidewalks shall be trimmed on <br />a natural taper rather than vertical so as not to appear to be <br />hedged. <br />2.3.5 Schedule the application of a commercial fertilizer as often as <br />required, but no less than twice per year, to promote optimum <br />growth and healthy appearance to all shrubs. <br />2.3.6 Any plant requiring removal shall be replaced by the Operator at <br />9 <br />
