Activities Undertaken: Fair Housing Services and Tenant/Landlord Counseling 0 The City contracted with ECHO Housing, Inc., a regional non-profit fair housing agency, to provide tenant/landlord counseling, fair housing services, and outreach to landlords and tenants. During FY 2001, ECHO investigated 22 complaints of alleged housing discrimination. The following table shows the type and number of complaints investigated. ECHO Housing will contact the property owners and site managers to discuss the findings and will offer training and education. Eighty rental managers attended the MMAP, sponsored by the cities of San Leandro and Hayward, Alameda County, and the Rental Owners Association of Southern Alameda County (RHO). Outreach to tenants regarding fair housing rights was done through presentations, public service announcements (PSA's), and flyer distribution at community events, community agencies, and the public libraries.
