CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br />CITY COUNCIL RULES AND COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE <br />January 18, 2006 <br />4:00 - 5:30 p.m. <br />San Leandro City Hall <br />835 East 14th Street <br />San Leandro, California <br />(City Manager's Large Conference Room) <br />HIGHLIGHTS <br />Committee Members: Vice Mayor Orval "OB" Badger, Councilmember Glenda Nardine, <br />Councilmember Bill Stephens <br />City Staff present: John Jermanis, Jayne Williams, Steve Hollister, Marian Handa, Kathy <br />Omelas <br />Public present: Lou Filipovich, Charles Gilcrest, Dan Walters <br />1. Discussion Regarding Front Yard Standards <br />Community Relations Representative Kathy Ornelas reported on her research of ordinances from <br />other California cities that require landscaping of front yards. It was suggested that the issue be <br />referred to the upcoming work session on Community Standards. <br />2. Review of Proposed Recodification of San Leandro Administrative Code - Sections 13-23 <br />City Clerk Marian Handa reviewed the proposed changes in this second phase of the three-phase <br />Administrative Code recodification. Titles 13-23 cover primarily boards and commissions, and <br />changes were made to reflect current practice and provide consistency between the sections. <br />Committee Member Badger noted the current inconsistency between the City's codes and related <br />difficulty he had as a BZA Member attempting to research information. <br />Committee Member Nardine asked if the Council will receive copies of the new Administrative <br />Code, and requested that the Code be made available on CD. <br />
