The Redevelopment Agency owns land remnants adjacent to 1040 <br />Davis, as well as the vacant property at 1103 Davis Street once intended for a non-profit <br />community center. Staff recommends consolidating ownership of all these parcels with the <br />Agency, and beginning a Request for Proposals (RFP) process to find developers who will <br />acquire and re -use the properties. <br />This process will allow the Agency Board to select a buyer who will develop the property in the <br />manner most consistent with the community's goals, rather than the highest bidder. The RFP <br />will require proposers to provide information about the proposed project, relevant experience, <br />site layout, etc. A preferred developer will be selected from the respondents, and a Disposition <br />and Development Agreement negotiated for Agency Board approval. Details on how this <br />strategy applies to each property follow. <br />1040 Davis Street (includes 1016, 1040, 1048, and 1052) <br />The vacant fire station building and adjacent small parcels, together totaling .46 acres, were <br />appraised at $376,000 in August 2003.
