Laterals shall be capped prior to start of demolition. Contractor <br />shall call for City inspection after capping but before backfill <br />material is placed. <br />An 'S' shall be chiseled on the curb to mark the location of the <br />plugged laterals. <br />Work to be Done - The contractor shall remove all improvements <br />within the property lines. Such improvements shall include but <br />shall not be limited to floor slabs, foundations, basements, <br />walkways, fences, and any equipment, tanks, or structures <br />encountered below the surface of the ground or floor slabs. <br />Preservation of Historical Artifacts - All artifacts or other <br />items that may be of historical value, which are encountered <br />during the course of demolitions, shall be brought to the <br />attention of the owners. All such items shall remain the pro- <br />perty of the owners. They shall be handled carefully by the <br />contractor in the course of removal. <br />Removal & Disposal - Except as indicated above, all demolished <br />material is the property of the contractor and shall be removed <br />and disposed of off the project site. <br />Cleanup - Upon completion and before making application for <br />acceptance of the work, the contractor shall clean the area <br />occupied by him in connection with the work. The job site and <br />surrounding areas shall be left in a neat and presentable con- <br />dition. All rubbish, excess materials, temporary structures and <br />equipment shall be removed from the job site. <br />No imported fill material is required. However, the lots shall <br />be graded so as to be free of abrupt holes, pits, or other <br />hazards. <br />Adjacent Improvements - Contractor shall use care to <br />avoid damage to pavement and other improvements outside the <br />limits of work. Should damage occur, contractor shall, at his <br />own expense, repair or replace in kind to satisfaction of the <br />owners. Dust nuisance shall be prevented. <br />Streets and adjacent properties shall be kept free of debris. <br />Vehicular and Pedestrian Safes - All work shall be confined to <br />job site. <br />Sidewalk shall be maintained open to pedestrians. <br />Payment for the work shall be at the lump sum contract price. <br />Such payment includes full compensation for all work required. <br />2 <br />
