Return to:
Richard H. West
City Clerk 7j 3L987
City Hall
835 East 14th Street
San Leandro, CA 94577 IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO
RESOLUTION NO. 72 - 64
RESOLUTION OF DECLARATION OF FACTS
(Trojan Powder Bay Property)
RE:3081 X958
/_
664
RECORDED at REQUEST OF
At Min. PastIM—PJ4-
MAR 14 1972
OFFICIAL RECORDS OF
AMEDA COUNTY, CAUFORNIA
Recitals JACK G. BLUE
COUNTY RECORDER
Assessor's Parcel 80G-910-6 was created erroneously by the Assessor
January 16, 1957, to correct a so-called error in the map. At the time the
parcel was created, and because of a misunderstanding of the relationship be-
tween section corners set about 1871 by G. F. Allardt, Chief of the Tide Land
Survey and Louis Castro, County Surveyor, it appears that an error in the map
did exist.
Since that time, new data has come of record in the County Recorder's
Office. From this new data, it is possible to establish an approximate re-
lationship between Allardt's grid and Castro's grid. Specifically, the Grant
to the City of Oakland, filed September 15, 1958, in Map Book 40 at page 44A,
shows California coordinates for the southwest corner of Tide Lot 16, Map
No 1 of Salt Marsh and Tide Lands, from which the location of the corner com-
mon to Sections 10, 11, 14 and 15 on Allardt's grid can be determined. Record
of Survey No. 403, filed December 31, 1969, in Record of Surveys Book 7,
pages 81-86, shows California coordinates for the corner common to Sections 13,
14, 23 and 24 on Castro's grid. Tide Land Survey No. 104, by Louis Castro,
ties to and runs along the western line of Section 14. From this data, it
appears that the western line of Castro's Section 14 and Tide Land Survey
No. 104 is about 343 feet easterly from the southeast corner of Allardt's
Section 10. This relationship is reflected on the map of "Airport Annex No. 3"
to the City of Oakland, Ordinance No. 5180, C.M.S., filed March 8, 1957, in
Map Book 40 at page 89.
Further research stows that the land within Assessor's Parcel No. 8OG-910-6
is divided by the Line of Jurisdiction of the Tide Land Commissioners, the so-
called 5 Mile Limit Line, established by Act of the Legislature April 1, 1870.
That portion of said parcel lying south of sa"d line is within Fide Land Survey
No. 107 and is vested in Ideal Cement Company, successor by merger to Portland
Cement Company, who acquired title by deed recorded. February 24, 1937, in
- 1 -
