IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO RESOLUTION NO. 2022- RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO CITY COUNCIL TO APPROVE ADDING ONE 0.8 FULL TIME EQUIVALENT POSITION FOR THE HVAC MECHANIC II CLASSIFICATION TO THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT ADOPTED BUDGET STAFFING ALLOCATION WHEREAS, the City of San Leandro City Council adopted the Fiscal Year 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 biennial budget including City Manager’s Office staffing allocation on June 28, 2021 and updated the staffing allocation on January 18, 2022; and WHEREAS, costs for outside contract services for HVAC maintenance and repair continue to increase as does the maintenance needs of HVAC assets in City buildings; and WHEREAS, the Public Works Department currently does not have a dedicated HVAC Mechanic on staff; and WHEREAS, The City Council City Council approved Resolution No. 21-691 and Resolution No. 21-702 for an Installation Agreement with Climatec for design and construction of energy efficiency and resiliency projects at various City locations using American Rescue Plan Act Funds, which includes approximately $5 million in public facility HVAC, air filtration, and lighting upgrades; and WHEREAS, the Public Works Department seeks assistance to oversee HVAC project installations, and HVAC preventative maintenance. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows: That the 0.8 full-time equivalent position for HVAC Mechanic II Classification to the Public Works Department Adopted Budget Staffing Allocation is approved, and the City Manager is authorized to take all necessary and legal actions to implement this resolution.
