City of San Leandro Civic Center, 835 E. 14th Street San Leandro, California 94577 July 6, 2005 The Honorable Board of Supervisors County of Alameda 1221 Oak Street Oakland, CA 94612 RE: Cancellation of Taxes and Delinquent Tax Bill Dear Board of Supervisors: The City Council of the City of San Leandro took title by quitclaim deed from DAVIS STREET COMMUNITY CENTER, a California nonprofit public benefit corporation, all right, title, and interest in that parcel of land situated in the City of San Leandro, County of Alameda, State of California, and described as follows: A portion of Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 33 of ' Duman's Addition" recorded January 10, 1871 in Book 1 of Maps, at Page 33, Alameda County Records and a portion of Lot 3 as said lot is shown on the map of Tract 659, filed April 23, 1943, in Book 8 of Maps, Page 54, Alameda County Records (1103 Davis Street; APN 075-0120-061-04) and recorded in the Official Records of the County of Alameda under the County Recorder's Serial No. 2003-101219 on February 20, 2003 . It is requested that your Honorable Board will cancel taxes on the above property. Upon your approval, we would appreciate receiving a certified copy of the adopting resolution. The property was correctly noted as "exempt" on July 1, 2004, and no tax bill was prepared. However, the Assessor's Office mailed a tax bill for FY2003-04 to the subject property so the City never received that bill. Now we have learned that a 2003-04 delinquent assessment has been mailed, and we would appreciate your direction as to the procedure to officially get the 2003-04 taxes cancelled.
