3.12.040 <br />and comply with the rules adopted by the <br />agency. <br />Whenever a business will be displaced <br />from property within the project area by <br />redevelopment activities, the agency will <br />determine whether the business wishes to <br />relocate directly to an already redeveloped <br />property within the project area or would <br />rather reenter the project area at a later time <br />after other property has been redeveloped. <br />If the business wishes to relocate directly to <br />an already redeveloped property within the <br />project area, the agency will use its relocation <br />assistance program to provide the necessary <br />aid. However, the business must meet the <br />criteria established in the agency's rules in <br />order to be referred to a particular redeveloped <br />property. Those criteria include the business' <br />compatibility with the uses planned for the <br />property and the desired character of the <br />redevelopment, and the business' ability to <br />pay the lease rate or purchase price. <br />If the business prefers to wait and reenter <br />the project area after other property has been <br />redeveloped, the agency will keep the <br />business information on file and will contact <br />the business when such property becomes <br />available. The business will not be eligible for <br />the agency's relocation assistance program to <br />aid its move back into the project area. <br />However, the business will be extended a <br />preference for reentry in the form of agency <br />notification when appropriate redeveloped <br />sites become available.
