City of San Leandro <br />City Council <br />Meeting Date: October 17, 2022 <br />Agenda Number: 10.g. <br />Agenda Section: CONSENT CALENDAR <br />File Number: 22-572 <br />File Type: Staff Report <br />Adopt a Resolution to Approve and Authorize the City Manager to Execute Amendment No.2 to the <br />Non-Professional Services Agreement with ANI Private Security and Patrol, Inc. for Additional Security <br />Services at various City facilities to Increase the Amount of Compensation by $33,000 for a Total Not to <br />Exceed Amount of $168,000 <br />COUNCIL PRIORITY <br />·Public Safety <br />SUMMARY AND RECOMMENDATIONS <br />Staff recommends the City Council authorize the City Manager to execute Amendment No. 2 to the <br />Non-Professional Services Agreement with ANI Private Security and Patrol, Inc. for additional security <br />services at various City facilities to increase the amount of compensation by $33,000 for a total not to <br />exceed contract amount of $168,000. <br />BACKGROUND <br />The City of San Leandro has utilized security companies to provide security services for the Marina <br />Community Center (MCC) and Senior Community Center (SCC) since 2011. Security is a renter <br />requirement for all bookings in the Titan Auditorium at the MCC, Main Hall at the SCC, and social events <br />at the Surlene Grant Community Room. Security is present from the start of the rental event through <br />clean-up. <br />Upon the Limited Reopening of City Facilities in June 2021, the City sought to contract with a security <br />firm to check-in visitors, verify appointments, screen for COVID-19 symptoms, and reinforce required <br />face masks and social distancing. ANI Private Security and Patrol, Inc. provided one security staff <br />stationed at the Kiosk Desk/Community Development offices, Lorraine Blvd. entrance of City Hall. <br />Analysis <br />ANI Private Security and Patrol, Inc. will continue to assist City staff with security services for fiscal year <br />2022-2023. <br />Upon the reopening of programs and services for recreational swim at the San Leandro Family Aquatics <br />Center, it was brought to staff’s attention the need for security services within these facilities to: <br />·Monitor entrances/exits, and patrol the outside perimeter of the facility, and parking lots. <br />·Greet, check in, and direct all visitors as needed. <br />Page 1 City of San Leandro Printed on 10/13/2022
