MEMO <br />TO: Dick Randall, Assistant City Manager <br />FROM: Jim McSharry, Chief Assistant City Attorney <br />DATE: May 3Q, 1979 <br />RE: Inhabited Annexation <br />The procedure for an inhabited annexation initiated by Petition <br />is the same as that described in my earlier memo (attached) regardinn an <br />inhabited annexation initiated by Resolution of Application, except that: <br />1. the initiation by petition requires the signatures of <br />5% of the registered voters or 5% of the landowners <br />owning 5% of the assessed value of the land in the <br />territory to be annexed; <br />2. the hearing by LAFCO must be held within 90 days after <br />the Executive Officer issues a certificate of filing <br />to the petitioners. <br />JIM McSHARRY <br />Chief Assistant City Attornev <br />naj <br />Attachment <br />
