7. F,1Petion is helrl Rt the next regular election at least 75 days after <br />adoption of the resolution. <br />8. After the election, City Council adopts a resolution: <br />(a) confirming the order of annexation if the measure passes; or <br />(b) terminating, proceedings if it fails. <br />9. Executive Officer of LAFCO files a Certificate of Completion with <br />the County Recorder, the County Surveyor anti the City Clerk, and a <br />notice of the change of organization with the Secretary of State. <br />10. The effective 4ate of annexation: <br />(a) if not fixed by LAFCO or the City Council, is the date of filing <br />the Certificate of Completion with the County Recorder; <br />(h) may he fixed by LAFCO or the City Council. The PPrliest <br />permissible date is the date of execution of the Certificate of <br />Completion. The latest permissible date is the earlier of: <br />(1) one year after the date of execution of the certificate of <br />completion; <br />(2) the due date of property taxes or assessments levied in the <br />territory. <br />JAMES M.
