Vivrette 10007SUBJECT Aesperian Annexation - 1%, <br />M <br />1 I talked to Jack McKay, Executive Officer of the L.A.F.C. regarding our <br />2 Hesperian annex. <br />3 I told you previously, I had talked to Bill Smallwood, who said that unless <br />4 he were directed to do so by his bosses, he would not be able to get to our <br />5 annexation until after the first of the year. <br />6 McKay said he did not see any problem in this. .die will still hear the <br />4 <br />7 matter on December 18 and if the Commission is so inclined., they can approve <br />8 the annexation subject to the Coimtyll$ approval of the map and legal description. <br />9 This has been done before. <br />10 The big problem is that there is no possibility that we can complete the <br />11 City*s portion of the procedures prior to January 1. Since we cannot get <br />12 a unanimous petition requesting the annexation, the m8tter T7? have to be <br />13 set by the Council for public hearing. We are therefore faced with not being <br />14 able to complete the legml procedures until late January or February. I <br />15 understand that Glenn Forbes is summarizing the time and procedures necessary <br />16 to do our part after we get approval from L.A.F.C. <br />17 As I understand it, the annexation can still be effective so that we can <br />18 proceed with zoning and other matters leading to the development of the easterly <br />19 side of the road during 1g70. The bulk of the new developaent would then be <br />20 eligible for assessment and taxes in 1971-72. <br />21 <br />J. F. f <br />22 P .
