Homer Hamlin <br />;ITY OF SAN LEANDRI <br />INTEROFFICE MEMO <br />DATE February 20, 1964 <br />FROM u1C1111 M. rul ucz <br />SUBJECT Eden Road and Port of Oakland Properties j <br />1 1 am advised that the petitions for annexation to the City of San Leandro were executed <br />2 more than six months ago Will you therefore have new petitions executed by these owners <br />3 for processing of the annexation of these properties to the City of San Leandro? Copies of <br />4 the petitions to be signed are attached. <br />5 For your information the present status of this transaction is as follows: <br />6 Three or more weeks ago Mr. Carden tailed Ed Goggin of the Oakland City Attorney's office <br />7 and informed him that the City of San Leandro was prepared to ❑roceAd with the annexation and <br />8 deannPxatinn of the properties concerned t4r. Carden further informed Mr. Goggin that the <br />9 City Manager's office was still in the process of negotiating an agreement with Oakland <br />10 Scauanger Company as tp the du ping nf garbagp nn Oakland Scavenger Company property whereby <br />11 tbm City of can i eanrlro wcui l d be able to agree togive 11n i rs r i ahts to dump oarbage on the <br />12 Part of 0-kiand property- Mr- Goggin stated that he would forward this infnrmatinn tn the <br />13 0-klan.l officials involved <br />14-onversationo rity <br />15 r <br />16 _sInlinleexation of properties -arm to be considered together- and acted upon together- He Indl-ate <br />17 that Oakland is not interested in proceeding with the process of annexation and deannexatior <br />18 until such time as the agreement as to the dumping of garbage is executed He furthermore <br />19 stated that two to four years ago an agreement was proposed by the Port of Oakland and the <br />20 City of San Leandro regarding drainage through Port properties and that a proposed agreeme <br />21 was submitted to San Leandro at that time but was not acted upon. The position of the CI <br />22 Oakland is that this matter should be acted upon simultaneously with the dumping of garb: <br />23 The status of the annexation and deannexation of properties is, therefore, that no <br />24 further action is to be taken by the City of Oakland until such time as the agreement rl <br />25garding chlR.ping of garb - i�exe-11tPd. <br />
