IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO RESOLUTION NO.3/� S C.M.S. A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO CALLING A SPECIAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON THE FOURTEENTH DAY OF MAY, 1957, PERTAINING TO THE ANNEXATION OF MULFORD GARDENS TO THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO Whereas, by Resolution No. 3145 C.M.S., the City Council of the City of San Leandro declared its intention to call a special election to be held on the fourteenth day of May, 1957, in certain inhabited territory contiguous to said City proposed to be annexed to said City, for the pur- pose of submitting to the qualified electors residing in said territory the question whether or not said territory shall be annexed to said City; and Whereas, a copy of said resolution was published as required by law; and Whereas, at a time not later than the hour set by said resolution for hearing objections to the proposed election, a petition purporting to be a protest against the proposed election was filed with the Clerk. The Council thereupon examined such purported protest and found and determined that the same did not constitute a. legal protest in the form required by law therefor and was not a protest made by the owners of one-half of the value of the territory proposed to be annexed as shown by the last equalized assessment roll or by public and private owners equal to one-half of the value of the territory; and whereas, within ten days after the time: set for hearing objections to the election, no supplemental protests against the election were filed; and Whereas, at the time set therefor, the City Council proceeded to hear all protests against said election and, upon such hearing, found and deter- mined that protest was not made by the owners of one-half of the value of the territory proposed to be annexed as shown by the last equalized assessment roll or, by public and private: owners equal to one-half of the value of the territory; and
