N
COUNTY
bLriALA EDA DONALtr er PARKIN
v Auditor -Controller
office of the HERBERT W. COCHRAN
AUDITOR -CONTROLLER Chief Deputy Auditor
TelePbone (415) 874- 5545 ___
Administration Building / 1221 Oak Street / Oakland, California 94612
November 23, 1976
Mr. J. A. Arch
Finance Officer
City of San Leandro
Civic Center
835 E. 14th Street
San Leandro, CA 94577
Re: City of San Leandro District No. 1, District No. 3, and Washington
Manor Community Services District
It has been brought to our attention that the identification of the areas
noted above for assessment roll and tax levying purposes is no longer required.
Elimination of the identification requirement would simplify the duties of
the County Assessor, State Board of Equalization, and this office relative to
the maintenance of the City Assessment roll and property tax levy.
Therefore, it is requested that your City Council take action to eliminate
the requirement by adopting a resolution to the effect, that the maintenance of
the identification of the areas noted above by the County Assessor and State
Board of Equalization is no longer required.
It would be most advantageous if your City Council could take this action
by December 31, 1976, to allow sufficient time for the County Assessor and the
State Board of Equalization to adjust their records for the 1977-78 fiscal year.
A copy of the resolution should be filed with the County Assessor and this
office. We will in turn, notify the State Board of Equalization of the action
taken.
Very truly yours,
DONALD M. PARKIN
Auditor -Controller
of Alameda County
By: -
Ben Morita
Deputy Auditor
cc:
Dick Prien, Drafting Section
Assessor's Office
